A picturesque waterfall located in the Scottish Highlands, Gairloch Waterfall drops 60 meters down a rugged rockface, creating a misty veil that surrounds the area. The waterfall is surrounded by lush greenery and is accessible via a short hike through a scenic valley. The roar of the waterfall grows louder as visitors approach, and the air is cool and refreshing due to the mist created by the falling water. On sunny days, a rainbow often appears in the mist, adding to the natural beauty of the attraction.
A truly beautiful walk. We started at the Gairloch Beach, walked through to the harbour and then through the Gairloch estate following the waterfall route. The walk was lovely and well worth the hike up to see the spectacular views at the top. We carried on past the waterfall and would highly recommend this - you'll be rewarded with spectacular views of the mountains, the river that feeds the waterfall, and views through the mountain's saddle to the sea. Even on a rainy misty day it was worth it!
A rather underwhelming walk, fairly short and not particularly scenic compared to the plethora of other very scenic walks around the Gairloch area. Take note the small footbridge has been closed due to safety reasons so you will have to wade the byrne, and watch out for tics our dog come back with quite a few in her fur.
A nice walk. Takes a leisurely hour and a half there and back to the car park. 4.4 km total. A steady uphill in places but not too steep. Well sign posted. Walk can be extended as per sign posts. We saw a stag happily grazing nearby!
Great walk from the harbour just before sun down
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
