A tranquil area of woodland and heathland, Galleywood Common is a haven for walkers and nature lovers. The common is home to a variety of wildlife, including deer, birds, and insects, and features several walking trails of varying difficulty. The terrain is a mix of sandy paths, woodland tracks, and open heathland, with scenic views of the surrounding countryside.
A nice quiet park to walk the family and dogs. Has its own homemade swing in the woods, which all the family enjoyed. Young and old alike. Beautiful lake with lots of wildlife. If you need somewhere to gather your thoughts...this is the place to be. Great for everyone.
Lovely to be there. It's well maintained and very beautiful in lots of ways.
Its a shame that the council are equipped with staff that care for the place.litter every where not enough bins to put in ,doggy bins only one in the car park i mean come on" you need more so us peasants can fill them up ,and please do something with the big duck pond its horrible, for us and the wild life.
A great place to go, to let the kids run wild. There's a good variety of park equipment for all ages. They have tennis courts, netball, football pitches. There is plenty of free parking and toilets in the centre. Depending on the time of year, there is a little duck pond, when it's not marshy. They have a free accessible exercise area with a selection of equipment including bars. They also have a little woodland area at the back that my children love to explore. This is a nice place to picnic in the summer.
Idea for walking our retriever, who loves the openess and Woodlands ,also drains away quiet well, which helps!
Rather muddy in places but you can walk for 50 minutes using quiet lanes or wander into woodland at several points. Lucky to live close to such a pleasant area. It's more varied than you might think.
