Walking paths cross this nature preserve with many native birds & plants in a heath habitat.
First visit. It's a brilliant place to walk and gorgeous with the heather out.
Beautiful walks with some excellent pubs nearby! Great for doggy friends!
Looks amazing in the summer. Walks around here take at least half an hour and you get a good view of the surrounding hills, farms and houses. A huge shame about the pylons ruining the view though.
If you use Google maps to get here then you will arrive at the Chorley Rd entrance, where there are a couple of lay-bys for parking. It's quite a steep walk up the hill and despite the pylons and the houses and the pylons the place has a real ancient feel to it, almost eerie. It's very quiet with almost no sound of any wildlife, you almost want to whisper. At the top of the hill things get a lot more greener and there are marked paths to explore. Well worth a visit
Lovely walk. Great little spots to find and explore. Some nice scenery, lots of footpaths and routes to take. Parking available.
A lovely open heathland with well-marked trails of different length/ability. Small parking spot next to Windmill pub.
