This 18th-century Islington townhouse was the London residence of renowned author Eric Arthur Blair, better known by his pen name George Orwell. The Grade II listed building features a blue plaque commemorating Orwell's occupancy from 1944 to 1947, during which time he wrote parts of his dystopian novel "1984".
A tucked away piece of literary history. Highly recommended.
(p.s. People live here so give them privacy). Lovely house and it's current owners are taking very good care of it!
Only seen from the outside but there is a great mini museum in the church about 'George Orwell in the village'
