Glen Clova is a scenic valley in the Brecon Beacons National Park, Wales, known for its picturesque landscapes, rolling hills, and sparkling streams. The valley is surrounded by towering mountains, including the iconic Pen y Fan, the highest peak in southern Britain. The area is popular for hiking, horse riding, and other outdoor activities, with many trails and paths crisscrossing the valley. The scenery is particularly stunning during the spring, when the hills are awash with wildflowers, and in the autumn, when the leaves turn brilliant shades of gold and crimson.
What a walk! Been here on a number of occasions (Glen Clova and Doll), and I am always in awe of the surroundings. No matter the season, there is always a beauty to the place. This visit was in January, so not the warmest, however climbing up the mountain keeps you warm. Please do not stop midway up and turn around, as the beautiful lake at the top is worth the climb!
So much walking and stunning scenery. Forrest glens and mountains. Plenty to choose from. Loads of other walkers to meet. (Make sure you stay at Glen Clova hotel.)
A place to come and sit quietly and look and listen in wonder at this land I have the privilege to be born in. Scotland.
All trip took around 4 h.
Gorgeous place for driving around the Glen
Beautiful place. Lovely hotel/ pub there.
