Glenmore Forest Park lies at the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. It's a great place to see what makes the National Park so special: forests that have been growing for centuries form a green sea around high, rounded mountains, and lochs with sandy beaches glitter in the sun. Rare wildflowers and birds thrive among the trees - much of the forest park is a National Nature Reserve. Best of all, it's easy to explore, with plenty of things to see and do whatever your mood.
What a stunning location. We went early in the morning while it was snowing, and it was stunning and quiet. The trail is well looked after and maintained. It's all kept really tidy, and the paths are easy to walk on. The lake clearing was absolutely to die for. There's a small carpark and a 20/30 minute walk to the clearing.
A colleague had recommended coming here when we stayed at Aviemore and it was fabulous. Great walk, beautiful scenery and the stunning Green Loch was what we wanted to see. A little paradise and so many photos were taken by us all. Thoroughly recommend.
The midges in the Cairngorms was almost going to dampen this hike, otherwise, it was a lovely 10km walk, and not even the rain could stop us
Went to see the reindeer herd at Cairngorms mountain and were stunned at how beautiful and friendly the reindeer are! What an experience - from start to finish - the feeding, the staff were absolutely wonderful and knowledgeable. The reindeer are loved so much - it's electric! A must for any age xx
