Large out-of-town park with ornamental gardens, a wildflower meadow, cafe kiosk and wildfowl lake.
Lovely place! Good variety of open grass , wooded areas and cultivated areas. Nice cafe with loos etc if required, Nana and I loved it . The last photo is Roundhay Park. This is absolutely vast if you really want to roam. Both super dog friendly. Both lovely lakes.
My wife and I had an hour to spare whilst visiting Leeds, so we walked our dog around Golden Acre Park. We thought that the park was excellent, diverse and well maintained. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
Absolutely favorite place to come with my boys to run and walk around beautiful grounds. We love coming back to see swans. Boys love catching little toads and getting a few yummy treats at the cafe.
Loved it.Somewhat similar to Riveline valley trail in sheffield . It was a nice a walk .It was good since there were parking ,toilets and cafe.
Had an absolutely gorgeous walk here on Sunday afternoon with some friends. What an absolute gem hidden so close to Leeds. The scenery was lovely, a perfect mixture of woodlands, expansive green fields and stunning water features (lakes and streams alike - although I personally had a preference for the stream - the calming sounds of the running water engulfed by beautiful woodland really created a magical atmosphere. I would definitely return to this location and if you are in the area I highly recommend here for a gorgeous stroll!
Beautiful park in Leeds surrounded by amazing woodland. It doesn't matter what time of the year you go it still looks great There is some great history here too if you know where to look. There is a beautiful lake to walk around with plenty of wildlife. There is plenty of places to park there too on both sides of the park. There are also some beautiful gardens to walk around. and benches placed around to have a rest History The park opened as a privately run amusement park in 1932 with a miniature railway, swimming pool and boating lake, but closed during the Second World War and was taken over by the Council in 1945. The lake was formed by damming Adel Beck and was larger than at present. Location The park is on the east side of the A660 road. On the west side is a car park and Breary Marsh nature reserve, with a pedestrian tunnel under the road joining them to the main park. The Leeds Country Way passes through the park, and the Meanwood Valley Trail links the park to Woodhouse Moor.
