A Georgian manor house and restaurant with 12 comfortable bedrooms overlooking the rolling tree-strewn hills of the North Shropshire countryside. Boasting 5 acres of award-winning gardens, including a productive one-acre kitchen garden. Located in the 'golden garden triangle' close to Wollerton Old Hall, Dorothy Clive Gardens & Hodnet Hall. A warm welcome awaits you.
We joined a free kitchen garden tour this morning which was hosted by the kitchen gardener, Sarah. We were guided around the grounds and shown the poly tunnel, beds, and terraces which had an amazing variety fruits and vegetables. Sarah was extremely knowledgeable about the produce and plants and didn't hesitate to answer any questions or give hints and tips for keen gardeners on the tour. We finished our morning sat on the terrace with coffee, drinks and cake. The staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for our group and even found gluten free cake and a dairy free alternative for my daughter. The cakes and scones were delicious and we will be back to try out dinner!!
Stayed here for a wedding of friends. Great hotel with beautiful gardens. Room was big, bed was comfy and GF biscuits were a great touch! Breakfast the next day was really yummy especially their own apple juice from fruit in garden. Staff are friendly and helpful. Very relaxed feel during whole stay!
I visited the gardens here, which were beautiful. The gardeners were extremely friendly and you are encouraged to visit all the areas e.g Polly tunnel, kitchen garden etc. The hotel itself, from what I saw, was also stunning.. my 3 yr old niece who I took along with me even exclaimed "Wow, this is lovely" when inside! I only interacted with one other member of staff who was also very welcoming.
