A vast expanse of golden sand stretching 2 miles along the coast, Goodwick Sands is a picturesque beach in north Wales, UK. The beach is nestled in a secluded bay, sheltered by limestone cliffs and surrounded by rolling hills. Its tranquil atmosphere, soft sand, and crystal-clear waters make it an idyllic spot for relaxation, sunbathing, and swimming. At low tide, the beach reveals hidden rock pools teeming with marine life, perfect for exploration. The scenic coastal path offers breathtaking views of the Irish Sea and the nearby island of Anglesey.
This is a nice beach for families. Water is very shallow for quite some distance out, good for kids to paddle in. Not too busy while we were here. 'Sands' is a bit misleading as it's mostly a stoney beach with a few pockets of sand (so perhaps not your first choice of beach if your main priority is making sandcastles!). Also a kids play area, several very nice cafes, the Ocean lab aquarium and Goodwick moor nature reserve all within 5 minutes walk. Overall nice play to hang out. Free parking at phoenix car park and Goodwick bridge car park and pay and display at Fishguard pier car park, all within 200 metres.
