Gosforth Nature Reserve is a MEMBERS ONLY reserve with a wide variety of wildlife flora and fauna to see and photograph.
Staff are exceptional the entire reserve is well well cared for lovely hidden gem with plenty to see
A hidden gem! I can't believe I hadn't heard for the reserve before. A brilliant reserve with a brilliant and informative team who are dedicated to providing a natural and safe space for nature as well as informing visitors about the reserve and answering any questions they have. Accessible via car but I believe public transport is recommended and it is easily accessible via bus routes.
Beautiful spot for a walk and enjoying nature/wildlife. There's 3 main trails that will take you around the marsh, lake and conifer forest Entry fee PS5 adult or you can join the NHSN membership (covers household entry) if planning to return a couple of times
It was absolutly fabulous, quiet, peaceful only the birds chipering away. No dogs, I love dogs, but not to hear any shouting is priceless. No bikes either, just a nice long walk, agmonst the tree. You can spend some times in a hide enjoying, the wild life on a lake. Althought, I didn't see a lot of wild life, I heard it. It is really nice, & restfull to be able to get away, if only for a few hours, from it all. I went back today & it was still nice & tranquil. This time I was luckier with the wild life, a heron, egret, swan, ducks & roe deer. I spent 4 hours there, really lovely. I have also become a member for a year, so I can go back & enjoy it more.
Didn't really go on a nice day, rain, mud and not many animals about but will definately go back, paid PS5 to the Warden for access or you can do it online and get a ref number for the warden. I would advise you to have walking boots or wellies on your visit to use in the nature reserve.
You can sign up to be a member via the website in just a few minutes, great couple of hours exploring and very peaceful in the hide spots watching the wildlife, pay attention to the map when you first go in and you can't go wrong. Lovely new addition to the entrance, walk ways remain undamaged despite the storms too
