Nature reserve for boating, walking, cycling & fishing, plus a canal with horse-drawn barge rides.
Went here yesterday on 17th August with a group of 11 of us, to enjoy an outing with several Birthdays, together. Having a horse drawn barge experience was all part of that too. A wonderful gentle (step out of the rat race) moment to enjoy too. The facilities and service across the site are great and personable. There are floating cafe barges, tea rooms, a retail/souvenir shop, a visitor centre and toilet facilities, as well as the large horse drawn barge to take in. All great and the actual ride experience is serene and pleasant...with the bar run by the welcoming Sue on the barge is marvellous too.
Little gem in Tiverton. All facilities are very clean. Whl chair access to all parts of the facilities. Canal boat for small snacks n tea/coffee . Very peaceful and the walks are beautiful. Lovely place to sit n read. Horse drawn canal boat available.
Lovely walk alongside the canal, lots of sunshine, picnic after by the visitor centre
Superb walks on the towpath. There is a horse drawn barge experience available from the Tiverton end, one of only two nationaly. The Canal Tearoom, under new owners, is a lovely spot to take a break. Very good menu. The closer you get to the County boundary with Somerset, the more rural surroundings but there are still village pubs nearby. On our walk today, two Kingfisher sightings were the tops.
