Visitors are taken on an interactive journey celebrating an era when British entrepreneurs and engineers were at the forefront of a transport revolution. Along with Henry Ford in America , Herbert Austin and William Morris were the leaders who put the working population behind the wheel and gave us all the freedom of mobility which we now take for granted. This is the story of a British industry which in its heyday was a worldwide force and its products could be found in all corner of the globe. Its hero's are the popular cars from a bygone era when for half a century, British cars did literally "rule the road". Many of these cars are now incredibly rare and we have spent over two years searching for examples to display.
Such a great trip here, the combination of cars, advertising materials and the heady aroma of engine oil and interiors makes for a great day out. Excellent set up, audio guide included with entry which was a good addition for extra facts about the vehicles. Cafe was friendly and good value too. Worth prebooking tickets to save a few pounds at the door as well.
Went with the Capri MK1 club. Good day out, shame about the weather. Brilliant place to visit with the kids, you can take cars out for a drive think you have to book but well worth a visit. Lovely, helpful friendly staff to direct you around the museum and the staff in the cafe are really professional and extremely polite. Would definitely recommend this place. Loads of free parking.
I nearly gave 4 stars because it's cheaper to book online, but it seems you can do that on the day too or get a discount by showing a ticket from another local attraction. It's just so many different British car they have on display. PS17 entry. It's a bit more enjoyable if you really really are into cars. You get a tablet as an audio guide and it scans QR codes with more informations about the cars, which is very, very appreciated. For a fee they even let you drive stone of the cars. I spent there air 1.5 hour. Worth the visit
Nostalgia here we come! We had a great time walking through the Great British Car Journey. We counted off the majority of cars my dad had owned over the years and saw some beauties. The cafe was great as was the parking and access. Totally fab!
A very unexpected car museum, but a must visit. The museum showcases the British evolution and dominance of the car industry and sadly the collapse too. There are some amazing classics here, and those poor cars that killed the UK car industry. A great self guided tour with an interactive media device. You can also book to drive some old classics, but none of them had enough HP for me
Had a brilliant time at the museum, the staff where fantastic, really friendly. I paid a little extra and partook in the drive a hero car, I chose an Austin seven ruby, really enjoyable. Have to say this is an brilliant experience and would fully recommend.
