Amazing place to visit. Great experience of past history of English engineering and culture. One more place must be visited while you are in Leicester. Free entry, but there is a kind request to buy platform tickets as donations. I think PS3. Toilets are clean and well maintained. Car park, on front of train station. Place is very easy to find. Walking distance from Belgrave Boulevard bus stop line 26, 832 and orbital opposite KFC . Easy to find while driving a car. Red Hill Way. First turn to the right after passing roundabout. This is a fabulous place to visit with friends, with family and alone. Please consider a train trip cheapest about 11PS per person, group and family options are available. Combine visit next city walk around and come back to Leicester.

A beautiful station at one end of this excellently maintained heritage railway. With frequent opening days running steam and diesel locomotives, this is an ideal place for family days out. There is a cafe serving food and hot drinks as well as a ticket office for the heritage line.

Wonderful interactive living museum. Yes it has exciting steam and diesel engines and glorious carriages, with licensed buffet cars, but it also has a fabulous assortment of buildings with interiors to die for spread across four stations. We had a great time and can't wait to go back. Maybe to book one of their stunning-looking 1st Class dining experiences. Booked up until September though! It's also fully accessible.

Amazing place, a favourite with our family. Visited today for a 1940s themed weekend, what a fab day - superb weather, displays of military vehicles and classic cars, a stage with 1940s style performances, lovely food and drink, a re-enactment military camp and a shopping village, plus steam trains running - just perfect. Amazing enterprise run by volunteers that keep history alive.

This is a beautiful, nostalgic train station. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. The cafe is the original waiting room with an open fire. From the station, along the path which runs adjacent to the track is a lovely walk towards Birstall. We visit often whilst out walking our dog.
