Green's Windmill is a restored 19th Century tower mill, once home to mathematical physicist George Green. Turning again since 1986, climb to the top of the windmill and see how our sails turn grain into flour. In our interactive Science Centre discover the remarkable story of George Green, and experiment with light, electricity and magnetism. There's something for all the family!
Absolutely amazing place.. Great staff and good stuff. The windmill was not working because of some maintenance work, but they got a small science gallery that was interesting. They have a small kids play area as well. Good place to spend quality time.
Best and calm place , hidden gem in middle of city. Best place for kids to explore the ancient Flavour/ wind / green mill and with scientific experiments in museum along games, garden and play area

Wonderful to see the actual equipment used to grind wheat into flour with excellent explanation and video. Information about George Green and his contributions to math and physics was absolutely amazing and fascinating. He was 120 years ahead of his time.
Beautiful old windmill. You can go up to different floors (very steep stairs!) and see how it all works. There's a small science museum with interactive bits, highlighting the work of George Green who worked in the windmill and did scientific research there, despite leaving school at the age of 9. Nearby is a fantastic playground making it perfect for a visit with kids. PS5 donation requested to keep the windmill and science museum going, which we gladly made.
Great place, the volunteers are all very kind, we found the museum free, it's small but really nice
