A 19th-century windmill located in the Cambridgeshire countryside, featuring a traditional English post mill design with a white roundhouse and a wooden cap that rotates to face the wind.
We saw this wonderful white windmill and lots of sheepies. There were five brown sheepies too. Then we met a dog walker who spoke to us for about half an hour about dogs. It was very pleasant. A bit sludgy in places so it might be a good idea to wear hiking boots. There's also an electric fence around the sheep, so don't touch it. We also saw a bin specifically for poo bags and a bench which was sadly broken but could easily be fixed.
Stuning! When walking the field, enjoying the view and the peaceful surroundings, the windmill just emerges from behind some bushes. Do not miss it. It's just 20' away from Brighton Town Centre.
Windmill is inside private house. it called Patcham Windmill. It is nice place to walk, picnic, dog walk, cycling. It is quite plenty space to walk up and down. They are 3 parks nearby. if you come by car, you could google green ridge road. pet friendly place.
A great place for family walks, dog walking with amazing views of Brighton and the South Downs. If you walk upto the Windmill, there is an exit that takes you towards the public footpath into the South Downs. If you come by car there is a car park just before the exit from Dyke Road (Hilltop Cafe). You can park for upto an hour.
I walk my spaniel here at least twice a week. It's a lovely spot with an adjacent wood. A full circuit, including the wood, is a about 60 minute walk. Lots of walkers but it's never crowded. The council put sheep here from November to February but they're fenced off and there's always plenty of space away from the flock to let your dog off the lead. Thoroughly recommended.
Nice clean open space for walks.
Wheelchair-accessible car park
Good for kids
