Greenfield Valley Heritage Park is a 70-acre country park in the United Kingdom. It is located near the town of Holywell, in Wales. It is well known for its woodland, reservoirs, ancient monuments, rich industrial past and its factories which played a big part in the Industrial Revolution.
If you're interested in industrial history this is a very interesting park. Parking is free and most of the park is free to view and there are plenty of information boards around to let you know what you are looking at. There is an admission charge for the museum area which is actually a small open air museum with restored buildings that you can go inside. There is also some livestock. When we visited the smith was working in the forge. The cafe serves delicious homemade light lunches and cakes at a reasonable price and there is indoor and outdoor seating.
What a lovely place. The trail was lovely. Really enjoyable. Cafe really nice. Outside seating. Would highly recommend the lemon cake. And will revisit again in the future
Seems like a nice place to go, especially if you have young children. They have plenty of things to do inside, though we only looked around the Abbey.
Absolutely brilliant family day out. You can enjoy the abbey ruins and cafe (check ahead that it's open on day of visit) then the visitor centre has a nice shop and toilets. We paid PS7.50 per adult to go in (three year old free) and we spent hours exploring the farm buildings, maze, animals (pigs, chickens and sheep) ride on tractors, sheltered soft play and a brilliant playground with a big tree house and tunnels! There's also sometimes an ice cream hatch open by the playground.
Nice walking area on good pathways. Seems a little rundown in places. Stunning old monastery.
5 Stars for the free to enter parkland around the mills but lowered to only 3 Stars due to the Heritage Centre, which I didn't get in to. Only one member of staff at the desk on a busy Sunday afternoon. Her time was taken up by customer discussing tickets. A couple walked straight through behind me without entry tickets. I attempted to buy a ticket online using the website .co.uk advertised outside, but no such website address exists. I was later informed elsewhere that it should be .com
