This 1,000-acre park is a former industrial site transformed into a vibrant green space, featuring walking and cycling trails, woodland, and wetlands. The park is home to a variety of wildlife, including birds, bats, and insects, and offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Visitors can explore the park's many trails, including the 10-mile Greenway Trail, which takes you on a journey through the park's diverse landscapes. The park also features a number of art installations, including sculptures and mosaics, adding to its unique charm.
Spent a lovely couple of hours walking around the Lake and reservoir taking in the views. A little muddy on the day we visited, Wellington boots or some good footwear is advisable, be ready to have dirty, muddy footwear after the walk. Car parking is free and there are two of them in different locations. Plenty of benches to sit and rest. Great for dog walkers and their dogs. There are a few private clubs around the lake if you like fishing. History of an old stately home. Picnic and children's play area. There is a cafe nearby, but was closed on the day we were there.
Beautiful country park with some interesting history to explore
An absolute gem. We visited here for our monthly girly get-together walk. Perfect for all nature lovers, especially the waterfall. Toilets are by the visitors centre. No cafe or tea/ coffee van at the moment so maybe grab a drink on your way there....
Nice walk with the dogs, a bit busy but a lot of nice views and definitely worth visiting!
Unfortunately the childrens play area has been allowed to become completely overgrown and has been closed off to the public. The walk around Knypersley Pools is beautiful and well worth it but not much to come to at Greenway Bank (top of the hill) any more- easier to park at the bottom in the Kypersley Pools car park. A shame really- would be lovely if this was brought back to life.
Only had a brief stay due to very wet weather. Decent car parking. Great views. Walking trails and children's play area. Clean toilets open till 4 pm. Signs for coffee and cake, but we had our own so didn't check it out. Car parking closed at 6 pm. Looks like a good place to park up and check out the various walking trails. Will be back again soon if weather dries up.
