Grenoside Woods is a beautiful ancient woodland situated in the Peak District National Park, Derbyshire, England. The woods cover an area of approximately 150 acres, featuring a mix of deciduous and evergreen trees, including oak, beech, and pine. The woodland floor is carpeted with bluebells, wild garlic, and other wildflowers in the spring, creating a stunning display of color. Several walking trails, including the popular Monsal Trail, crisscross the woods, offering scenic views of the surrounding countryside. The woods are also home to a variety of wildlife, including deer, badgers, and birds.
Spent a few hours here yesterday (2/5/24) and had a great morning with all the trails just about to myself! A few dog walkers and only one other lad on a mountain bike !
Greno woods was maybe the best place I've ever been riding even after it rained all week the track was perfect conditions
Amazing trails for all abilities. Just be careful of the rocks in the wet as I found out there quite slippery and hurt when you fall off Grab a local if you can to show you around and you'll have a great time
Good tracks for walking, watch out for cyclists as it has renowned mountain bike trails. Not much parking in the designated area, so beware of the roadside being packed with cars badly parked !
Wonderful place, went there twice over Christmas holidays, travelled an hour in hope to see some snow and we were rewarded with snowfall. A lot of trails to walk around, fab views, car park and roadsides busy all the time. Only downside, very cute looking WC was locked.
Lovely woodland, not alot of parking, full of dog walkers and horse riders ,easy paths to follow.
