A 12-acre nature reserve featuring a variety of habitats including woodland, grassland, and wetland, home to a diverse range of wildlife such as birds, bats, and insects, with walking trails, bird hides, and educational facilities.
I had high hopes but it wasn't quite what I thought it would be. The centre, toilets etc were all locked up. I did read the cafe had closed and been replaced with a machine. It also dispenses their Milk and Milkshakes. We saw a few calves. The roundhouse is fenced off unfortunately so you can't get close to it. There is a lake but it's privately owned and inaccessible. I can't help feeling this place would be thriving but it's not. Top tip: It appears they have open days so it might be worth visiting on those few days.
The cafe is now closed down unfortunately due to lack of customers luckily they have made this wonderful milkshake machine with the local milk! There's also a dairy and egg vending machine and a coffee and hot chocolate machine it's all very clean and yummy xx
Nice and relaxed site. Fascinating to see cows milk themselves. Great to be able to buy flavoured organic milk shakes and organic cheese. Nice brief walk around
My whole family loved the walk to the farm. Far away from the crowds, just fields and a beautiful farm, saw lots of rabbits and the lake is gorgeous.
The bronze age house has a history board on the exteriors, so it's not essential to get arranged entry. The (modern day) dairy farm is mostly honey stone buildings with small parts that are covered in clapboard sidings. Also you see the cows can pass freely between the barn and the meadows, through a body motion sensory door.
Lovely walks with the dog and fresh milk available from the dairy farm. Banana milk is the best.
