This former railway line turned walking and cycling route stretches 4.5 miles through Guisborough Forest, offering scenic views of the surrounding countryside and woodland. The visitor centre provides information on the area's history, geology, and wildlife, as well as exhibitions and interactive displays. Outside, a play area and picnic spots cater to families, while a café serves refreshments.
Great for anyone. Can be a gentle walk or a hard one. Take your time and soak in that feeling of calmness. Notice the excellent carvings as you enjoy the walk with plenty for the kids to. Make sure you look around you. You may miss things. Children love it. Your dog will love it. Any adult will too. Stop off for something to eat enjoy a drink. Or just sit and have a coffee. It's all very nice..
Great place to spend a few hours. Toilets, Cafe and children's playground. Well marked trail to determine how far you want to walk. Decent paths and lots of information boards.
We did the green walk (shortest of 3 options) with our 7 month old puppy. She loved it, we thought that it should have been more clearly explained quite how much walking upwards was involved here. I felt like we were the only family doing one of the 3 main walks, I saw no one else on those trails. That gave me the feeling that there were much easier options, I could be wrong, Nice cafe at the end though to have a coffee and a sit down at. We'd definitely come here more frequently if we lived locally
It's probably one of the loveliest forest walks I've been on for a long time. We are from the lake district too
Well laid out forest paths, suitable for young children, whilst muddy in places. The interactive digital elements weren't working, though didn't detract from the fun of the day. Gruffalo puzzles at stages were fun, as were the various playground opportunities - the train the favourite with our family. Staff very helpful and kind; cafe food & coffee very good. Will happily visit again, was excellent value.
Lovely walk. The visitors center has disabled toilets available. Nice little cafe to stop at. Plenty of trails to follow depending on the level of intensity you are looking for. Plenty parking spaces and free for blue badge holders.
