Guys Head Lighthouse is a 26-meter-tall (85 ft) lighthouse located on a small island off the coast of Cornwall, England. The lighthouse was built in 1914 to guide ships through the hazardous waters around the island. It is a cylindrical tower with a white and black striped pattern, topped with a lantern room and a first-order Fresnel lens. The lighthouse is surrounded by rugged cliffs and rocky outcrops, and its isolated location makes it only accessible by boat. Despite its remote location, the lighthouse remains an important aid to navigation and a popular tourist destination.
The lighthouse is a beautiful place to stay. A warm, cosy atmosphere with beautiful paintings on the walls and a stunning view whichever way you look. It was so interesting reading the information about Sir Peter Scott and seeing some of his art work. I loved the quirky features of the Lighthouse, slanted doorways and winding staircase. The river Nene is on one side and a large pond with geese framed by the beautiful countryside. I didn't want to leave and would love to stay again.
Lovely walk, took some photos of the light house
Lovely place to visit . Walks for dogs a plenty
Nice enough place. Convenient Parking/Picnic area with a few tables to to stop for a picnic, all ready then for a walk along to the Wash. I have to say though, the walk was hard going because of the undergrowth covering most of the track but that is nature taking back what is theirs. In this weather, you would be well advised to wear long trousers or else the thistles will scratch your legs to shreds.
Had a lovely walk up at the wash. Always a pleasure to see the lighthouses
Complete waste of time going to this place as it's now got a fence around with signs saying no entry
