This 136-acre park features a variety of landscapes, including woodland, grassland, and wetlands, with several walking trails and a lake that offers scenic views and opportunities for birdwatching. The park is also home to a number of sculptures and public art installations, adding an extra layer of interest to the natural beauty of the surroundings. Visitors can explore the park's many features, including a children's play area, a cafe, and a visitor center with information about the park's history and wildlife.
A delightful place to go and walk round with friends and family. Parking only PS3.50 for the day. Few places to get something to drink and snack. Plenty of lovely scenery to take it.
Great place to walk in nature, lots of different options that you can use to extend your walk, use the map as a guide. All paths are well maintained, and only occasional is there significant puddles that you need to contend with. It is worth walking up to the Deer Statues and Large Urn, then across to Crathie Woods, before coming back down to the Lake. Not a single piece of litter in this area, plenty buckets and they are well used, although you are requested to take your litter home with you.
This is a lovely large area that can give you lots of different walks of different levels. There is a lovely lake can can be walked around, a children's play area, a dog area for letting your dogs run free and the House itself and gardens . There are also two places where you can stop and have refreshments, one sit in and one with outside tables. We went to that one and the girls were very attentive and nice. You can even buy food to feed the ducks if you so wish. Never get tired of visiting this lovely area.
Grand place to visit with the dog, plenty of paths to walk along and grounds are well kept. Lovely walk around the lake, though we didn't realise from the map of the grounds this was a circular walk - would help to make this clear as it's well worth going around. We had lunch in the courtyard cafe as it was dog-friendly and it had plenty to choose from. Mrs Smiths had a sticker on the door saying no dogs, but there was plenty of seating outside for those with dogs (the website stated this cafe was closed on the day we visited, but it was open so think it might need updated?) We had initially planned to extend our walk by parking at the side car park and walking through Craigie Wood, but this is currently closed due to storm damage sadly. Would also not recommend following sat nav as we ended up being directed to an entrance with a lodge, but by the time we spotted the sign stating something about sat nav and no access, estate vehicles only we'd driven in. There were workers there so we asked them if it was the way to Haddo House and they said it was, so we continued - would not recommend, as it was full of potholes! The only thing that we felt would improve the place is having clearer signs, waymarked paths, or to have leaflets available with a map (if these are available, we didn't see any), as we found the silver ones quite difficult to read.
A beautiful and peaceful country estate. Lots of wonderful walks, parks, scenery, and wildlife. This is a great place to visit in all weather conditions as long as you're prepared. Great for young and old, individuals and families. One of my favourite places to visit.
I've been a visitor here since I was a child, now I take my son for visits. Lovely walks, two really good kids playgrounds, and of course you can take or buy seeds to feed the ducks. You do need to pay for parking even if you're a National Trust member.
