This charming 4-acre garden in Nottinghamshire is a haven for nature lovers and gardening enthusiasts. A tranquil atmosphere pervades the beautifully landscaped grounds, which feature a variety of plant species, including roses, herbaceous borders, and a stunning rock garden. Meandering paths invite exploration, while a picturesque pond and fountain add to the serene ambiance. The garden's crowning glory is its impressive collection of alpine plants, showcased in a specially designed alpine house.
An enjoyable visit to this beautiful garden today. Lots of paths to follow with surprises and places of interest. The workshops were a highlight as the metal workshop, forge and furniture restoration craftsmen were very happy to show us what they are working on and answered all the questions thrown at them by 3 ladies on a day out. Go see it for yourself
My wife & I visited today, for the first time and put the PS8 in the donation box looking for some sort of sign or direction info to tell us where to go. Unfortunately nothing, so we went down the side of the house to see what looked like the gardens round the back. What we were greeted with, was basically an overgrown mess of random weeds, nettles, with the odd flower in between. We explored further, and it was the same everywhere. It's such a shame, the place obviously used to be nice, but it is so run down, and overgrown, it just looked a complete mess. Really disappointed. We visit open gardens across Lincs and beyond, and there are so many hidden gems which surprise us with their beauty. This was not one of them, and it is going to take a LOT of work to get it looking anything like the images on the website.
Beautiful qwirky garden and we had a lovely picnic here which is recommended approach otherwise would be a short visit. There are small trails at the back of gardens, around a large pond/lake which will investigate further next time. Host are so kind and friendly. Love the honesty box for entrance. Would go back again for picnics
Very pretty space and am honesty box outside(PS4) and very hard working family sorting gardens. Can walk further to the moat.
Beautiful gardens to walk around in a lovely setting , not at all formal. There is a field of meadow flowers, with little windy paths cut out in the grass.Very natural
