Harlow Museum is your local free museum located in the stable block of the former Mark Hall Manor House. It is surrounded by the beautiful 17th Century Walled Gardens.
This review about Harlow Museum & Walled Gardens A small museum with lovely garden to walk round. What a lovely haven to be at with the family and children. Not a proper cafe though just wished if the place was provided with food service providers or sellers. Some interesting Roman finds and an impressive bikes collection. Nice welcome from the receptionist and it's free! Most of the workers are volunteers serving the community, bless you all.
A nice and small museum surrounded by a beautiful garden!!! Everything was blossoming. A good place to learn about the history of this town. About the builders and architects. About 3 generation ago they started planting and building a great and beautiful town!!
Great museum friendly helpful staff, loved the roman artifacts never knew Harlow had so many. Plus recognition to Brays Grove high-school. Lovely gardens but they need more volunteers before they are over run with weeds, which would be such a shame.
Its a lovely place. The museum is very entertaining and knowledgeable. The gardens could do with some new benches though.
I was pleasantly surprised today. It was my second visit to this place after 20 years. I did enjoy the gardens. The staff (and volunteers) are very friendly. I will certainly recommend Harlow Museum, and I also already planning my next visit.
A lovely visit to our local museum. To my shame, I've not been here since I was a child, but bringing my own children here for an Easter egg trail, I see how wonderfully kept the grounds are and how dynamic and enthusiastic the staff are. It made the whole visit really enjoyable. If you're looking for a place to take your kids for an enjoyable, but Educational time for a few hours, I would strongly recommend visiting the beautiful (and historic - 500 years old) gardens and an educational (but fun) artefacts of the museum. There are also some nearby swings to take them to afterwards if they need to burn off some energy.
