This former limestone quarry turned attraction features a unique landscape of steep cliffs, rocky outcrops, and hidden caves. The pit's rugged beauty is accentuated by its vibrant turquoise water, creating a striking visual contrast. Visitors can explore the area through a network of walking trails, taking in the unusual scenery and spotting local wildlife such as birds and insects.
A nice little walk. The path is near the pub next to the community center noticeboard. Follow the lane up to the woods and there's plenty of birdlife about. Keep going up and you can reach a view point up on the tree lined ridge. Make the walk circular by following the tree line and dropping down on a path through the fields.
Nice place for a walk through some interesting woodlands. There are some old workings here if you are into history. Failing that it's a good place to let the kiddies run around and see a bit of nature. It's a little hilly and, while some of the paths can be interesting if its muddy, it's worth going to the top as you can then get some decent views.
Such a nice place to go for a walk with dog dog and your family. If you go to the upper part of the pit in the woods please make sure you have your dog on its lead and your children by your side as there are big drops! Enjoy
Cool when it is hot, sheltered when it is wet and windy. It is a great spot of den building, swinging about and general family fun. We all love to come here together, with or without the dogs. Trees to play about in, around or climb, places to hide, hills to run up and slide down. Literally that's all that's here but what more do you need!?
This clutch pit is wooded with several different levels and slopes. It is good for children to play, swing and build dens.
