Located in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Harmby Waterfall is a picturesque waterfall on the Harmby Beck stream. The waterfall drops around 10 feet over a rocky ledge, creating a serene and peaceful atmosphere. The surrounding area is lush with greenery, and the sound of the waterfall creates a soothing background noise. Visitors can hike to the waterfall from the nearby village of Harmby, following a scenic trail that passes through woodland and along the beck. The waterfall is particularly beautiful after heavy rainfall, when the water flows more vigorously over the edge.
We were staying very close to the waterfall so it was just a short walk to get there. Such a beautiful spot, I could have spent a lot longer just watching the water cascading down the falls. It's not the largest waterfall you'll ever see, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in beauty. Well worth visiting if you are in the area.
A beautiful place to visit and a very short walk from the main road (with a few stairs.) Our dog loved having a sniff at the beautiful water fall and the woods were a lovely place to explore for a cooler walk on a sunny day. Not too busy as well, which is a plus if your dog gets a bit overwhelmed!
It's a very short walk about 20mins, but the waterfall and stream are beautiful, considering this is behind a row of modern bungalows, but the very small wood, must b hundreds of years old. Worth a look.
Great place to come for a walk. The waterfall, and the area surrounding it are stunning and not too busy. It's easy to get to from the road, though it does involve steps in one direction. The path was also quite muddy & slippery due to recent rainfall, so if you are visiting take care and wear sensible shoes.
It's a surprising little gem. There is a well maintained clean footpath, which stayed consistently busy while we were there. However, there was still space for us to enjoy our picnic without being in people's way. There is a rather steep and narrow staircase and end of path which may not be suitable for all.
Lovely place to visit, beautiful waterfalls peaceful, cafe, walks around the area . Will call again
