The Harnham Water Meadows are the beautiful land to either side of the Town Path between Harnham and Salisbury. Managed by the Harnham Water Meadows Trust, the water meadows are still grazed and flooded (or "drowned"), as they were back in the 17th century.
Gorgeous paths with the sound of moving water, birds and sheep. Surrounded with many places to eat. Great for walks, jogs and pet walks. Meanders through this beautiful village built in the 1200s. Views of the cathedral from the paths.
Fantastic stroll South West of the cathedral. Even has an ancient inn nearby to provide sustenance to the "weary" traveller :-)
Beautiful place to stay. Room was small but adequate for my needs. Staff were lovely and the food was good.
Wonderful food, lovely staff. The Sunday lunch trio was amazing and cooked to perfection. The two girls looking after our table of 4 were fantastic. Although the pub car park is small, there is plenty of parking outside, or close by.
Do you fancy a quick lesson on Meadows? Just take a stroll down the town path from Fisherton Road in Salisbury all the way down to Harnham Mill to behold the ancient Harnharm Water Meadows which ensured the survival of livestock during winter months. A combination of the serene environment, proximity to Salisbury city centre, Victoria gardens and Harbham Park makes here an ideal location for all. Also a good spot to walk dogs, watch birds and admire the Cathedral spire.
Lovely local feature. Great for walking along and watching the wildlife.
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
Good for kids
