It was the Harwell feast today, and it was great. I had a shower or two, but on the hole, it was a fantastic day. The punch and Judy shows were absolutely fantastic they did three shows throughout the afternoon, and every show was packed out. The children were shouting and screaming, and even the adults were given it good voice.
Great play area, hill in the middle had big slides down it, tunnels at the far end and a high wobbly bridge. Plenty of other swings, slides and climbing equipment. Outside the fenced area is a zip line, basket swing, done outdoor exercise equipment and a couple of picnic benches. All best to a large field ideal for ball games, frisbee etc. Only downside is no toilets (unless the tennis club is open).
Really good tidy clean park. Quite adventurous, perfect for my 6 & 10 year old. Nice exercise stations and zip wire. Loads of open space.
Before anyone starts moaning about the park with uncontrollable dogs off lead, even if they are friendly dogs. PUT YOUR DOG ON LEAD!! Even if they are the friendliness dog in the world. One dogs came running up to my dog. The person was other side of the park.. my dog is off the lead and doesn't like dogs which is OK to be. The other owner is irresponsible dog owner. Another dog owner came onto the field her dogs were on lead so we waiting for then to move on as my dog doesn't like dogs only playing with balls. This silly women let her dogs off. The one of the dogs came running over barking basically harassing my dog. So she warned the dog off. It was for ages her dog was barking and running around for ages before she came over, when she did she said sorry but still didn't put her dog on lead. She then said my dog was angry. Ha. How would someone like it if a person kept circling and shouting at your face.. Leash your dog.. no recall at all!!!!
Enclosed play area for children with swings, slides tunnels, etc. Grass covered, with soft rubber surfaces around play equipment. Also fitness apparatus just outside the play area. Our 2yrs old and 7 yrs old granddaughters absolutely loved it judging by the excited noises they were making.
This is my local park. It was very soggy underfoot when I went round with my dogs. But it is still an enjoyable walk, for a few days of the year the sunrises on a partially cloudy morning can be beautiful. A circle of fruit trees has been added and some shrubs and trees have been planted at the far corner.
