Located on the outskirts of Doncaster, Hatfield Outdoor Activity Centre is a fantastic facility for outdoor enthusiasts & novices alike. Set against an idyllic woodland backdrop, the activity centre offers a range of water-based and land-based activities for all ages and abilities. For the summer months there is also an inflatable water park area. The centre also boasts a superb family friendly campsite with 49 pitches including electric hookup, amenities block and kids play area.
Liked: We liked the size of the pitches, trees and the playparks were great for the kids. Kids could be kids! The site is in a really great village with fields, parks, pubs and shops within walking distance. Great for Dog owners. The staff are friendly and helpful and the shop is well stocked. Overall a good campsite and would stay again Disliked: For feedback: please bare in mind the site was fully booked. The toilets were a bit of an issue. I think due to the amount use/ amount of people they were always needing cleaned. In my opinion people should clean up after themselves. The biggest issue for us was the firepits, you couldn't breath because people were burning anything and everything! We seen some people hacking down branches and throwing rubbish in them. The campsite was very busy and loud but come 11pm a member of staff would go round and request quiet which was good.
Liked: We throughly enjoyed our stay, the staff were lovely and couldn't help enough. The activity centre was amazing and the kids and adults all enjoyed themselves. The service at the bar was great and the food and drinks were reasonably priced. The little on-site shop was also reasonably priced and always stocked. The site its self was clean and quiet on a night. The shower blocks were clean and showers always hot. We loved the fact the site was dog friendly and had a dog walking area to enjoy.
Liked: Lovely quiet site with good sized level pitches off a meandering track and lots of trees - not all in a row which was nice. Facilities were very good and kept clean. It was quite quiet when we were there (Monday & Tuesday nights) so perfect for us, but everything seemed well spaced out so I don't think would feel cramped even if full. Disliked: Only downside was that our pitch got hardly any sun - not too much of an issue as the trees helped make the site lovely, but meant we couldn't really sit out next to our motorhome. Maybe worth clarifying on either booking or check-in especially when quiet (as there were plenty of spare pitches so we could have moved but didn't realise until the sun eventually came out!)
Liked: The location to the activity centre has a great. The pitches are a good size. It's a nice area. The young staff dealing with the activity are really nice. Disliked: Toilets/showers aren't very clean at all. They also run out of toilet paper by teatime each day. Considering how many people are staying at the camp there aren't a lot of toilets especially as 3-4 are constantly out of order. The older staff in are quite abrupt not friendly and welcoming at all.
Liked: Brilliant camp site loads of activities for the kids to do young or old ours ranged from 9 to 12 and was great. Great facilities of shower and toilet block. Well equiped and managed well. Little on site shop and not expensive like they usually are. Bar and cafe shop on site pizzas we're really good and fries. No extortionate either. Brilliant place to go with friends and families. Hired a firepit for night times to make smores. First has to be dying down by 10.30 and quietening down ready for bed at 11pm x
Liked: Customer service was great. We had very clear instructions on finding out pitch on arrival. The campsite was very clean throughout and so were the facilities. The activities we did were amazing with great instructors who were very good with our 4 year old son. Disliked: There was a point where we booked the Canadian canoe and it seemed they were unaware we were booking in for it. We arrived in good time and asked someone where we needed to be and no one came until about 15 mins into our 39 min time slot they were however very apologetic and told us there was no rush for us to be back until we were ready
