3-hectare park with a wildlife pond, trails & benches, plus 2 playgrounds & a junior football pitch.
I am absolutely in love with this park. We have so many great memories here and we keep coming every time we get the chance. My dog is the most happy when we take him to Hatherley Park. I feel this is the best escape if you want to enjoy a piece of nature. There is plenty of picnic area, playground for kids, lots of benches to rest. There is a pond as well, but I can't really take my dog too close, because he wants to jump into the water and chase the ducks. Many times, there are football games, which Monty likes to watch. A small coffee shop if you want a hot drink is also available. This was my lockdown escape and I will never forget those moments with clear skies and lots of sunshine.
Lovely coffee shop trailer, I think it's called Butterfly's or something. Serving hot drinks and snacks which are great quality and good value. The park itself is clean and well maintained with ducks to feed as well...please don't feed ducks bread though, it's not good for them.
A beautiful green space with play area, pond and basketball hoop. There is a tea van on site called the Butterfly Box, staff are very friendly here and the prices are very good. No toilets here though, which is a shame. The surroundings are lovely, and it's nice to go for a walk or let the children burn off some energy in the play area.
Hatherley ParkIs a nice park but the trouble is the dogs are running wild and the owners have got no control over them I have been attacked by dogs a couple of times and I'm not the most ableist of people I have to walk with some support and the owners seem to think oh it's fun having a dog to do what it likes causing a problem and great fun watching your dog attack people and get away with it, and it is totally wrong! The council should get the act together and stop dogs roaming loose and owners not being in control of the little bleeders, and they should put them on a lead. It says that the park is dog friendly, friendly to who? maybe the owners who can do what they like, but not the poor defenseless people who are just going about their business. It's about time something was done about it.! So Five stars to the Park and one star to the council who allow unfriendly dogs to cause a nuisance So overall one star as I won't be going there again until I'm fitter. and then what great fun i will have?
Ideal for kids of all ages. Even somewhere to buy coffee, soft drinks, ice lollies, etc. Highly recommend.
I feel blessed to have this as my local park, perfect for dog walking. Something of a hidden gem with a lovely undulating part at one end, a small lake with ducks, children's play area, a football pitch, boules court and the lovely Butterfly Box serving drinks, ice creams etc. The name of which, I presume comes from the Wendy Craig/Geoffrey Palmer sitcom 'Butterflies', many scenes of which were shot in the park the the exterior of their home being in an adjacent street. This park is very well maintained by the volenteers of The Friends of Hatherley Park.
