A picturesque flight of 21 locks on the Trent and Mersey Canal, Hatton Locks is a popular spot for boaters, walkers, and nature lovers alike. The locks, which raise the canal by over 40 meters, are surrounded by lush greenery and offer stunning views of the Cheshire countryside. Visitors can watch boats navigate the locks, enjoy a picnic on the towpath, or explore the nearby village of Hatton.
Nice walk around the locks and surrounding field, Parking was PS2 for 2 hours and PS3.50 for all day. The cafe at the end was a massive letdown but I'll do a separate review for that.
I went to try and photograph all the 21 locks but it's not that easy which I found out, it's a lovely walk up and down the locks and there is a lovely little cafe at the top if you need a drink or bite to eat, overall it's a lovely place just not easy for photography
For boaters and non boaters this is a great place to go. We enjoyed a lovely walk ( as a chair user, or if a pushchair needed it has hard compacted gravel paths) The boaters are friendly and all seemed willing to take offers of help, answer questions and teach about the lock system and boating life.
What a fabulous walk! Really well cared for and I wish I lived nearer, so I could visit more often
Nice place for a walk, run or ride, watching (or even helping) boats go through the locks. Very calming, life moving slowly along the canal.
Our second visit here and enjoyed it just as much. Lovely place to walk the dog and watch canal boats pass through the many locks. If visiting in the morning I would definitely recommend a visit to the cafe for a very reasonably priced breakfast.
