Way better then expected. Caravan was clean and spacious for a 2 bed standard one. Facilities good. Mash and barrel on site restaurant was good with good choices and fast friendly service. Fish and chip van, and burger king good but slow service. Outside swimming pool was lovely. Activities where all worth the cost, and the staff running them were friendly. Would definitely go back.

I was really nervous having read lots of negative reviews online and have never left a review before but felt compelled to put others at ease. |It was exactly what I would expect off a haven holiday. We've visited other haven sites but never here before. We had a bronze caravan, which was lovely and clean. (Probably only 3/4 years old). We were on Oaklands so a nice quiet part of the park. It was a bit of a walk (10 min) from the entertainment but this suited us well as we liked how we could come away from the noise. The entertainment is as expected from a haven holiday 5* cheese but it was a good laugh and enjoyed by all.||We were lucky with the weather and spent most days around the outdoor pool (which you don't need to book). Glad we brought wetsuits for the kids as it takes it till the afternoon to warm up enough and this gave us HOURS of peace and quiet! ||Staff were all polite & friendly that we came across. We are used to splashing out and going abroad 4-5* all inclusive holidays so whilst I have given this 5* it is not the same standard as those but the holiday does as it was advertised to do. We had a great time and would definitely come back. ||Advice to others is to book your activities as soon as you can as the indoor swimming gets booked up as do lots of others.||We got the foot ferry over to Brightlingsea for the day & went crabbing there which was good fun.||Overall, if you're happy to embrace what haven is all about and accept it will be busy at times then you'll have a great time.

We loved where our caravan was, very close to the amenities and had a river view from the balcony. (Cygnet Way)|Unfortunately the dishwasher leaked a bit while in use, there were a few dirt marks around the caravan and carpets could have done with a more thorough vacuum. But bedding was spotless and kitchen/bathroom were clean.|Indoor pool was lovely and warm, we all enjoyed using it. Could use a slide/flume in there just for something else for the kids to do. |We had Papa John's and Burger King delivered to our caravan, both of these were excellent. |The mash and barrel restaurant's food was really good, a big improvement from the last time we were here. Kudos to the chef! |My son loved the arcade, particularly the Animal Kaiser machines! Quite a large space with plenty of machines to choose from. A staff member also told my son about an Animal Kaiser tournament he could sign up for (for free) and my son really enjoyed that. |Onsite shop is expensive but has all the essentials. Staff in there were really lovely and friendly. |Really lovely sea walks all around the park, my personal favourite part of this particular park. |Will definitely return, just need the cleanliness upped for it to be perfect. |

Loved this place! We had a great saver caravan 3 beds for 2 adults and 4 kids plenty of room! Did loads of activities Callum was fab on the climbing wall and big jump! Swimming pool inside was like a bath! Outside was cold ha ha but still good! Entertainment what you expect for this sort of thing kids enjoyed it! We found all the eating places to be fine staff all good and no long queues! Only minor thing I'd say the outside changing rooms need a bit of updating but apart from that for the price it was fabulous! Would go again!

Rooms were clean, one room had hair on the bedding in which we informed staff and they changed immediately. We had issues with 2 things. First, if you ask us to pay extra to get access to the pool, then you have to make sure you have enough time slots for everyone. Otherwise, the website shouldn't accept paying extra or a message should appear that the pools will be mostly fully booked. We can't access the activities page until we pay and reserve. So no one knows if there are availabilities or not. 2nd, we paid extra to get balcony so we can sit outside in the evening. There was no light in the balcony and the lighting on our street was broken! So it was dark and we didn't make use of our balcony that we paid extra for. Some little points are really frustrating. We left the caravan 1 day early and didn't want to stay longer. There are no variety of activities for kids like another Haven we went to in York. It was boring for kids. The park is much smaller. Limited things to do. I would not go back to this location. We complained a couple of times about the light. No one did anything. Even when we said we are leaving 1 day earlier, no one cared. Outdoor pool had cold water. It has to be temperature controlled and a bit warmer so everyone can get in. Overall we weren't happy specially that we paid over 2x more than what we paid in April and didn't get much. Oh, we also were interested to get information about owning a caravan. No one was in the office and no one has called us back after 3 weeks!

Second year in a row we have been here and both times we have had a nice holiday was quite where we was anyway beach in walking distance staff are friendly and welcoming. The Caravans we had both times were nice and clean, the kids enjoyed the activities, arcades, beach, park, they enjoyed playing outside the caravan, made some friends while there. Food and drinks are fine. Entertainment is fine. We will probably return again sometime.
