This museum showcases the history and heritage of Hawick and the Scottish Borders, with exhibits on the town's textile industry, the Border Reivers, and the region's natural history. The museum is housed in a historic building and features a range of artifacts, including costumes, photographs, and archaeological finds. Visitors can explore the museum's permanent exhibitions, which include a recreated Victorian-era shop and a display on the town's famous knitwear industry. The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions and events throughout the year.
A little treasure I didn't even realise was there. Excellent displays particularly on Hizzy and Guthrie and the surrounding parks and gardens were very pleasant too. The kids playpark was loved by my two.
Excellent museum about Hawick, especially liked the War & Rugby rooms. Would highly recommend a visit!
Lovely free museum. A good range of exhibits aimed at different age ranges.. Motorcycles, local history, arts, and various wars. Nice building in a lovely park. It's definitely worth a visit.
Fantastic museum with a wonderful tribute to Isle of Man TT riders Steve "Hizzy" Hislop "The Flying Haggis" and the legendary Jimmy Guthrie
Visited today with my daughter for the first time since I was a child. It's changed so much, but somehow still felt the same. Really interesting exhibits that encapsulate the history of Hawick along with general history. My daughter loved being able to dress up like an old school child and they had a Critter Hunt on which kept her engaged. The man on the desk was so helpful and kind. Really good day out!
Great museum with lots and lots of different interesting items. They had something for everyone and different ages. The education (classroom) room was good fun and took me back. Will definitely be back to go through rest of the rooms I didn't have time for today. It was free as well. Brill
