The Hawk Conservancy Trust is a conservation charity and award winning visitor centre. Our mission is the conservation of birds of prey. Our purpose built National Bird of Prey Hospital(tm) can treat up to 200 sick, injured and orphaned wild birds of prey every year.
Just a wonderful day enjoying all manner of birds: hawks, raptors and vultures, many of which are on the endangered list. Not only do you get expert commentaries on the displays of each bird, but you know your entrance money is going to support the conservation of many of the species. The finales of the displays were amazingly spectacular, and worth the entry fee alone! The setting and the facilities are brilliant too. Brilliant.
Visited the Hawk Conservancy Trust whilst my family from Hong Kong was over. Lovely place to see the birds of prey and the flying shows were pretty amazing too. You can easily spend a whole day here if you wanted. The shows are worth watching. Very easy to get to and parking is plentiful.
Excellent day out. Staff are really informative and helpful and the birds are absolute stars. No sooner had we had a bite to eat or a look around and it was time for the next display. We took a picnic and there are plenty of places to sit even for larger groups. The restaurant looked good though and we will probably visit it on our next visit. Shop items were expensive but looked good quality and you are supporting a good cause. Accessibility looked very good and viewing points were available for all displays.
Not been for a couple of years. Fabulous improvements to the entrance and cafe. New birds fantastic first display at 11.30, second display I felt wasn't as good as the Valley of the eagles display. Great to see staff and falconers doing such a great job.
Fantastic place doing really good work. I learned so much and the passion of the staff can't help but inspire you. The flying displays were excellent. We did a twilight visit which I highly recommend. It'd alo nice to fins a place where the restaurant is not a total rip off.
Fantastic day out!! Beautiful birds and very powerful and emotionally moving shows, birds get extremely close in their routines. If you attend first thing and do both the morning shows you then have a bit of a wait for the Owl show, especially as it's very easy to walk the entire Conservancy between the first and second show. The cafe was a little pricey but it's going towards a good cause so I can forgive that... nothing stopping you bringing your own picnic should you want to save some money. All staff polite, friendly and knowledgeable about the birds and the fantastic work they do in the Trust. Can't fault it, very enjoyable day out, would highly recommend.
