Heathercombe is a tranquil and picturesque valley in the heart of Dartmoor National Park, Devon, England. The valley is surrounded by rugged tors and rolling hills, and is home to a variety of wildlife, including ponies, sheep, and birds. The area is crisscrossed by numerous walking trails, including the popular Dartmoor Way, which offer stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The valley floor is covered in a carpet of heather, gorse, and bracken, which blooms in vibrant colors during the summer months, creating a breathtaking spectacle. The area is also dotted with ancient stone walls, remnants of a long-forgotten agricultural past.
What a gem of a garden, we toured the whole garden and saw no-one else until we reached the tea room, where the hot drinks and biscuits are 'donation' only. All we could hear was birdsong and the sound of running water. The garden is massive and full of trees, rhododendrons, azaleas and several ponds and a lake. The 'park' had a massive bluebell patch. There are beautiful art installations dotted here and there.
A wonderful Dartmoor garden. Thankyou.
What a lovely place really relaxing, it was beautiful the only problem was it was quite remote but worth it, nice cafe.
Lovely walk
