Running round the grounds of the High Legh Garden Centre, the High Legh Miniature Railway provides endless train rides and hours of steam and diesel fun to all those who wish to ride. The railway has a children's playground, allowing passengers to catch the train from the Central station to the play area. On arrival passengers may alight and spend as long as they like, a service runs every 5 minutes (or thereabouts) so once you've had enough, a train won't won't far away.
We took two small children on the Santa train and it was brilliant- 15 minutes total (with a 1 and 3 year old you'll know this is a benefit). We stopped in Santa's grotto and received presents, then returned through the Christmas lights and back round. There was also a roundabout at the entrance for children to go on. As it's attached to the garden centre, you can then go in and visit the cafe or look at the Christmas displays. It's a great place to spend a few hours particularly around Christmas time. Will return next year. The staff are pleasant and friendly,
Great little railway, very reasonably priced. Lovely staff friendly polite. Would definitely recommend visiting.
Even on a showery day, great fun was had by all. Great value for money at PS2.50 on this lovely little Cheshire railway.
nice little miniature railway with very friendly people and a playground at one of the stations, pur son loved it
We went today for our grandson's 3rd birthday. The staff were so lovely and made such an effort even stopping halfway round to take them to the engine shed which they loved
Went on the train with my 18 month old son. He loved it. We were lucky enough to have it to ourselves. Id also add that the young lad who drove the train and took payment was an absolute pleasure. Very polite, friendly and assertive.
