Play, run, climb or cycle your way round High Lodge in Thetford Forest and experience nature at its finest. Every corner of High Lodge has something just waiting to be discovered, the more you walk around the forest, the more you'll find - we have a range of activities including disc golf, archer and GoApe treetop adventure! With play areas dotted around the forest, beautiful trails winding through rich wilderness and thrilling mountain biking opportunities, you'll be itching to return!
Our party had an age range of 3 to 63 and we all enjoyed ourselves. Lovely walk, we also had three dogs with us! The kids enjoyed the play areas on route and the big slides. I liked the little touches such as wooden carvings along the route and in the play area's. The pizza was tasty and a generous size to share. Food was ready fairly, quickly considering how busy it was. One to return to when holidaying in Suffolk.
Fantastic facilities and activities for all ages in the Thetford Forest. Gruffalo trail, walking routes, different level cycling routes and bike hire, Go Ape, disc and adventure golf, archery, table tennis tables, BBQ pitches for hire, picnic tables, information centre, great children's playground with zip-wire and plenty of equipment for all ages, Segway hire, running routes, cafe and toilet facilities. We took a picnic. All day parking costs PS15, 4 hours PS12, 3 hours PS9, 2 hours PS6, 1 hour PS3. If the weather is good there is plenty for a days entertainment. Would recommend.
Some wonderful walks with gorgeous scenery, lovely to get out away from everything and experience nature. The parking/shops/activities are expensive but the services there are good and the forest is taken care of well which lessens the blow. One thing we did notice was how insanely busy the central area was compared to the forest proper. Maybe further encouragement to actually go out into the forest is needed, whatever that looks like!
The reviews saying the parking is pricey make me laugh. For the amount of facilities made available (clean toilets, BBQs for hire, welcoming cafe with extensive food options, picnic seating, pay as you go archery, Go Ape/Disc Golf available via booking, music & Gruffalo trails), number of play areas (of very high standard, made almost entirely out of wood) for children, walking and cycling trails and general accessibility, this must be one of the best value places to spend a day in the entire area. We come here often and always have an amazing time; it's so versatile and has so much to offer.
Lovely big play areas, good walks. Parking & food are a bit pricey but all in all good value. The trampoline although not free is reasonable price and a bonus.
Nice place to take your family and the four legged ones also. Plenty of parking but a bit pricey. Very well maintained walking trails of different distances which are flat and well marked out. Tea room and go ape and information on site.
