A very nice day out, a lot of the castle was open with beautiful landscaped gardens, the staff were extremely polite, and the prices on the food were so reasonable, also there is a bonus Egyptian Exhibition aswell which extremely interesting, the only reason I wouldn't rate 5 star is due to the fact that photography is not permitted in the house, however having said that it does make sense for insurance purposes. All in all, it was a fantastic day out, and I would 100% recommend it to anyone looking for a nice trip.
Beautiful place, well worth visiting and not overpriced. You can't take photos inside the castle. I fully understand this, it's a home, and there are private photos on show. The staff in the castle are so helpful and full of passion about the castle. The gardens were just as impressive. The refreshments are limited, we took lunch and ate it in the car. I do have food intolerance. Therefore, it's easier for me. The cakes looked delicious . I would go again. Thank you to all at Highclere for a fabulous visit, Sandy Sims
Went for the afternoon tea with castle, garden and exhibition entry. We were really lucky with the weather! Tea was lovely, gardens beautiful and house and exhibition really interesting. Was very pleased with refreshment costs from the van too, really reasonable! Would wholeheartedly recommend.
Slightly disappointing - house was much smaller than expected, grounds were very well kept, however, poorly signposted. Information map very basic. Food and drink were excellent, Seating is great for nice weather, minimal of not. Staff were wonderful, helpful and informative. If you're a Downton Abbey fan then it probably holds a greater attraction. Glad we went, but just the once.
I received a voucher for Christmas 2023 from my husband, for a visit to the castle, gardens, Egyptian exhibition, and a champagne picnic. We had a fabulous day (apart from the weather). It's such a beautiful place, and we both enjoyed it very much, especially being big Downton Abbey fans. We'll definitely be back.
What a location. So awesome, staff were really friendly and happy to help with some great facts. But were ok with you just walking though... The Egyptian experience was wonderful so many old stuff and great information too. The grounds are wonderfully kept with lawns mowed superbly not a blade out of place. It was also nice to see some wild flowers which added some unkept nature to the site.
