Highdown Hill is a scenic hill in Sussex, England, offering breathtaking 360-degree views of the surrounding countryside. On a clear day, visitors can see the South Downs, the Weald, and even the Isle of Wight. The hill is part of the Highdown Hill and Buncton Hill Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) due to its unique geology and diverse flora. The area is home to a variety of wildlife, including butterflies, bees, and birds. Visitors can explore the hill through a network of footpaths and bridleways, taking in the stunning vistas and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.
Beautiful views, not too much of a climb (car park at the top of the hill) and free! Can see lots of swallows and swifts here in spring and summer on certain days (one day over 50 at once). Lovely place to explore
Beautiful views and walks, shame the minority don't pick up after their dogs
I regularly go up on Highdown Hill covering approximately 4 miles each time covering different routes through depending on how energetic I am feeling that day. Walking round the hill you will take in great view's inland and the coast. This is a great walk for novice walkers, dog walkers, runners, kids and many others I probably have not thought of. There is great spot at the top of the hill for a picnic with the family as well as a picnic area near the car park. (Please ensure you put your rubbish in the bins and if they are full take it home. Otherwise the animals will have the rubbish everywhere and this ruins the site for everyone). The car park is free and near to this there is the Highdown Gardens which is also free and there is a tea rooms just outside the car park. #dogwalk #picnicspot #walking #kidfriendly #greatviews

Beautiful views on a cold crisp afternoon, with deeply thought provoking history
