This 12-acre park in Higher, Tranmere, features a children's play area, a skate park, and a multi-use games area for sports like football and basketball. The park also has a walking trail, a pond, and a variety of flora and fauna. Visitors can enjoy the scenic views, have a picnic, or attend one of the many events and festivals hosted in the park throughout the year.
I have been coming to this park since I was 6 years old. I am now 62 and it's a Disgrace to people who bring their Children, Grandchildren and Lovely Childminders with not much play area! Six swings for the older children, 6 swings for babies, 4 broken old rocking things? A little climbing frame with a slide attached. A dirty little sand area full of who knows what? Stumps of trees to fall off! Apparently very Dangerous? Two benches inside! Pathetic! Bowling green is lovely for people who have contributed and enjoy playing bowls. The Caretaker has his hands tied because I think he's tired of trying to make the park Better! To Oldham Councils deaf ears! And before you say Anything! About me being disrespectful about the hard of hearing! My Great Husband is Deaf! Picnic areas are none existent! Unless you bring a blanket and your own table and chairs. Yet I go to the surrounding parks and they have everything? Other than Failsworth! tut tut! Hollinwood, Werneth etc etc. Disabled people cannot even get into the park at one Entrance! Because there is no ramp access just a concrete lip not allowing a Wheel Chair or an Electric Scooter!! When you do get in there are pot holes everywhere and Unaccessible Unfilled pavements! Disgraceful! Oldham Council has a Lot to answer for! Shameful in my opinion and I do have a Vote and Opinion. Because we All pay Council Tax to you! Playground photos for children! To be available if you're interested?
