A former chalk quarry, now a popular spot for outdoor recreation, featuring a large pit with steep sides, surrounded by woodland and walking trails, offering scenic views and a unique landscape.
Interesting little spot that I found on my trail runs. It's mostly a nature reserve but there are still exposed chalk walls where you are allowed to dig for fossils, not that I've found any myself yet! Whilst it's a nice spot to visit if you're on a walk either nearby the Rusty Gun or Hitch Wood, it can get very overgrown here like it was last time I was there which makes it less accessible or family friendly but when maintained it right time of the year it's worth checking out.
Sadly rather overgrown - not much to see. If you like chalk and nettles then this is the place for you. Normally pretty quiet at the bar, but the service is awful. I waited 2 hours to be served, and just gave up in the end.
