Hockerhill Adventure Playbarn is an all-weather adventure playground designed to challenge, entertain and inspire. At the heart of the barn, our awe-inspiring great oak will inspire your little acorns and saplings to reach and climb. Surrounding it are swings, slides, towers, bridges, walkways and tunnels - a multi-layered world for them to jump into, shape and explore.
This is one of the best places in the world (actually UK ) for kids. My children loved it. There are so many different playing areas they could be playing in and they had a great time. Food is fine and they have iced coffee too.
We had a super day (family of 4) last month at Hocker Hill play barn during May half term. It was somewhere we had been meaning to go for quite some time. It was busy but it didn't feel over crowded because it's so big, no one on top of each other. It's a breath of fresh air compared to the other smelly and stuffy soft plays we usually visit in the area. I love the emphasis of outdoor play, my 7 year old loved the zip wires & all rocking swing, she ran around for ages checking everything out. Sand pit & digger area brilliant for toddlers. Loved the musical instruments implemented throughout the play areas. My favourite bit of the day were the go cart bikes on the track, had 18 month toddler on lap, all the family can do a few laps together - brilliant! So cool to see a zip wire for toddlers too! (never seen one of them before). Staff were very friendly and accommodating when we asked where toilets were & where to dump pram etc. Nice to have hot / cold options for food. The kids enjoyed their sausages and chips, they serve decent coffee & some naughty / delicious brownies. All in all a great family day out, it's nice to go somewhere different & encourage children to be outside in fresh air which is so important these days. We will certainly be going back soon.
We enjoyed the morning here. Kids absolutely thought it was the best place ever so will definitely be coming back. Staff are friendly and polite. It's quite cold by the seating area which is on the other side away from the cafe as the doors are open, a small heater would be brilliant in that area. If you want to sit in the warmer bit then definitely try and get a seat by the cafe as there's a large heater.
This place was amazing and our two year old loved it, so many different things to explore inside and outside. Place was clean and tidy, well spaced out and well thought through. Downside was we were expecting a big changing area or a family room with plenty of space to change little ones / or for them to be able to access toddler size sinks / toilet. *had to fight my two year old into a small toilet room, then into the cubicle as I needed the toilet myself, only one baby change in the end cubicle which was cramped, nowhere to put the bag before changing little one, barely any room to move or to of taken pushchair / smaller baby in with you too. Wouldn't be surprised if baby change was only in female toilets. ** my daughter had several bumps whilst there as the bits you can have bumps on your head wasn't painted another colour so you didn't notice. Myself and my partner also bumped our heads several times too. PS20 for two adults and one child which wasn't too bad considering the money that had been spent with setting up and planning this play barn. However PS7+ per adult to come in was extortionate, we've been to other play centres who charge PS1-PS2 per adult. Only had drinks here, or I should say half a milkshake which wasn't anything special.
We took our (nearly) 2 year old daughter for the first time. Most of the play area is more suitable for older kids, then under 5 area is very small with only a few steps, two mirrors, one slide and boards for painting. She tried the bigger area but some sections were tricky and a little bit dangerous so we had to be with her at all times. The changing area has one toilet for baby changing. Menu seems good, but we only tried a flat white, which was nice. We paid PS25 for two adults and one kid. We thought it's a little bit expensive for what it is. It seems older kids were enjoying themselves and parents, too, having a go in some go karts. The outdoor area is big with swings, slides, and sand area.
New and clean wood playbarn one adult has to go with kids all the time if he/she is not a tall toddler. No picnic is allowed Free WiFi as no phone signal (EE for me) Went for the 4-5:30 session which was cheap than normal and was glad that we did it in a cheap session. Son will be 3 in one week time and 50% of height growth chart. Majority of things are too high for him. Has to go with him all the time. Think it will be too pricey to go for norm session and peak time. Cart was good fun. Has children zip wire It was very quiet when we were there as it was super off-peak. Didn't try food Didn't book online and waited for ages for payment and entry
