Expansive hillside gardens featuring stunning landscaping & Victorian-style greenhouses.
This is a wonderful garden to explore. The entry is free (but a donation is encouraged). There is so much to explore. Gardens of so many types of flowers, grasses, etc. The weather was perfect when we went and we wandered around for hours. There were flowers that I recognized and some that I have never seen before. The grounds are maintained entirely by volunteers which is remarkable once you see how vast the grounds are.
An amazing day out if you love looking around gardens. There are also wider grounds to explore as well. We were there from 9.30 am until 6pm. We took lunch with us as there is no cafe. There are toilets on site , also, if there is a volunteer free you may be able yo get a hot drink. Admission is free, but they do ask for a donation of PS5.00 for the upkeep of the gardens as it is all run by volunteers. Beautiful
A beautiful garden, with a varied array of flowers, trees and bushes. It was lovely to walk around and to visit, you can spend as long as you can there. It's very beautiful especially with the views of the hills and mountains.
Layered garden with a view of the Windermere lake and the adjoining fells, it is a one of a kind experience and a fantastic day out for garden lovers. The National Astilbe collection this year is astounding. The Hydrangea collection is fascinating. Plenty to discover in a small space. And last not least the walled garden. Once again there are varieties to be discovered here. One needs to look at finer resolution to spot the diverse genres. Highly recommended.
