A 145-acre park featuring a large lake, walking trails, and a variety of wildlife, including birds, fish, and insects, with opportunities for birdwatching, fishing, and picnicking, surrounded by scenic countryside and woodlands.
Very handy for picnics. Close to the sea too! Not much in the park itself apart from turf and a few picnic tables. Disabled parking is said to be free for 3 hours, then you must leave with no return! So if you need to stay longer you will need to pay as soon as you arrive.
Holland Haven is a very windswept coastal area beloved by birdwatchers, & dog walkers. It's a quite unspoilt expanse of coastal grassland stretching into watermeadow arable farmland on the site of the former Gunfleet Estuary. Some awe inspiring views of the sky can be seen from the sea wall, especially during times of sunset & sunrise. There's a beautiful view dominated by Holland churchtower across the arable field high ground inland. A large public toilet is on-site, but not obvious as it's in a hollow nearby the sailing club! Unfortunately, the largest bird hides on-site have suffered extensive vandalism & the wooden one has now been removed. Beware out of season, the winds blowing in from the sea can be brutal, both in terms of chill & ferocity. Sometimes sand is being blown from the beach with the intensity of a sand-blasting machine, & it's quite possible to be blown off the sea wall during a violent storm.
Car park was PS5 all day which isn't bad - although you can park for free along sea front further over in Holland On Sea. The country park area has a nice pond area whi a hide to watch the birds. It is however a little dirty in places with doggy poo etc. It is however also sat nicely next to the sea so nice views out and you can sit by the sea! There is a shop / cafe a little up the promenade and toilets a little further up after that.
Beautiful place to walk the Spaniels Dog friendly beach and lovely promenade with a great little cafe for snacks and drinks Go you won't be disappointed Pay and display parking at reasonable rate.
Absolute paradise, the beach has beautiful white sand, and fresh clear sea, lovely cafe selling all tea coffee, hot chocolate, cake, toasties etc. But dont tell every one about this quiet little spot
Love it here, clean unpopulated beach in summer.
