Standing at 527 meters, Holme Moss Summit is the highest point in the Peak District National Park, offering breathtaking 360-degree views of the surrounding countryside. On a clear day, visitors can see as far as the Welsh Mountains to the west and the North York Moors to the north. The summit is marked by a trig point and is a popular spot for walkers, hikers, and cyclists. The area is also dotted with interesting geological formations, including gritstone outcrops and peat bogs.
What an amazing view! The scenery from the top is breath-taking. You can see for miles. I did a 7-mile circuit and whilst steep, muddy and cold on occasions, it was definitely worth it. The number of people stopping in the car park, purely to get out, take in the views and take a few photos, says it all.
Stopping point on the top of hill on road from Stocksbridge Bypass to Holme, Holmebridge and ultimately Holmefirth. Really quite a view. The car park is quite sloping towards Holme valley, and with the wind on the day, wasn't very confident letting go of bike on stand. Ice cream van was nice and welcome.
Great place to fly the drone. So much different landscape to see with great views and parking..
Beautiful views and sometimes an Ice Cream Van for refreshments. Roads approaching in either direction are great driving roads for cars or motorcycles with wonderful views. It would appear the council have removed the rubbish bins, I assume so they don't have the cost of emptying them. As a consequence sadly, a large percentage of the great British public seem to think it's ok to just throw their rubbish on the floor. The mess being created is ridiculous; why people can't take their rubbish home is beyond me. Wonderful beauty spot...but for how long!
Took my happy little rescue dog for a walk up here, stunning views and a nice different place for him to explore. Do note that dogs must be kept on leads during bird breeding season. To be honest I wouldn't advise letting your dog off lead up here anyway as there are some potentially dangerous boggy areas they could fall in and a road through which is quite busy on sunny days.
Some pretty stunning views are provided here. Very enjoyable even on a windy day, the drive here also offers some fairly spectacularly breathtaking moments. What a lovely part of the UK to explore. Sit and let all your worries slip away with the breeze or adventure around on the many available walking routes. The possibilities are endless, your nature adventure awaits you
