Victorian brewery and visitor centre offering guided tours with free beer samples (must be booked).
Really decent pub grub, in a lovely setting. It was very quiet at 3pm on a Thursday, but the staff were very attentive and helpful. The range of food is mostly traditional 'pub grub' but the quality is high. I loved my Hooky cider so much that I bought a case of it! The brewery buildings are outstandingly beautiful, and quite architecturally interesting. Sadly we had no time for a tour but we took a look at some of the dray horses (that apparently still deliver ales etc in the local areas), while my father chatted merrily with the staff. Recommended!
What a great experience, my wife, son and I really enjoyed our visit. It's so good to see the old brewing methods preserved as far as possible. Our tour guide Leon was fantastic, very knowledgeable and humorous. The tasting session at the end rounded off the tour nicely The restaurant is well worth a visit, excellent food.
Went on a brewery tour last week which was really interesting and entertaining. This place has some serious history and has been kept as old school as they can in a modern world. If they can fix it don't replace it. Beers was delicious and bought a couple of cases (not pressure in any way) Word of caution, it is a working, old brewery, so be alert and I would say you need to be reasonably mobile to see everything.
We took the brewery tour which we would highly recommend it was amazing! The beer is fantastic but then it should be with all the history behind this brewery! The horses are beautiful
Went for a meander and stumbled apon this lovely place. Had to try a fee different craft beers.. They were yummy and then had a lunch there. Such good food, lovely warm atmosphere and the staff was really friendly and helpful. Loved this place 5 stars.
An excellent tour of the brewery. 'Monty ' the guide was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all questions put to him. Restaurant and shop were good and prices reasonable. I would say that soft drinks were not offered to drivers during the tasting which I think they should of been. Apart from that I'd definitely go again probably on a weekday to see the beer being made as there is no production at the weekend.
