Horsey Gap got a beautiful golden beach with a large colony of grey seals you can see. Was so nice to see all the seals either in the water or on the beach. After parking and walking at the end of the sand dune turn on the right direction and after walking a certain distance you can see lots of seals sunbathing or swimming. The distance between humans and seals should be 10m, we used close up to take pictures or video. Watching all of these seals was a great therapy. The beach is clean, long and everyone you meet on your walk is trying to maintain the distance from the seals. After all the experience we had a nice ice cream from the van situated in the car park. No toilets on the site. This was the highlight of our summer holiday.
Fantastic experience!! PS3.50 parking for 2 hours Short walk from carpark to the beach Sandy beach Very cute experience, we was swimming in the sea and a seal come swimming up close to us out of nowhere with a cheeky smile it made me laugh.
This was such an adventure and delight to finally see the seals. We went up the sand dunes and turned left, there was no signage and we spent over an hr spotting a few bobbing on the water. We were alittle disappointed we didn't see them on the sand. As we were heading back. We realised everyone was walking from the other direction. So we should have turned RIGHT at the end of the sand dune, we walked and walked, still not sure, we had a 2 year old who was tiring, untill finally we spotted hundreds of them sunbathing!!! We were so happy, we spent another hr, but as everyone needed the loo by now we had to head back. There were no toilets on site, none that we could see, the cafe at front was closed, or else we would have stayed longer. It's a beautiful beautiful beach. Very long, clean and everyone you meet on your walk are so friendly. Everyone maintained their distance from the animals, as they do frighten.
If you want to come here expecting to see seals, that's exactly what you will see. I was so surprised at the number of seals swimming around in the shoreline. The beach is huge. Very clean and it wasn't busy when we went. Definitely recommend.
The parking was great. Short walk on sand to the beach. The seals were there in all their glory! There were over a thousand of them laying on the beach, catching the warmth from the sun. The seal stewards were very knowledgeable and friendly. Keeping a close eye on those stunning animals in their own habitat. Amazing.
The car park is PS3.50 for 2 hours, plenty of places to car. The track getting up to the car park is stoney and a little narrow in places. We walked along the dunes and were lucky to see the seals which was a spectacular view. We went down to the beach to get a closer look and it honestly made our journey to Norfolk well worth the visit. The beach itself was nice and sandy so it's an ideal place to take children as they would be able to play and make sand castles. If you are in the area it's a must go place I would highly recommend it.
