Huntly Falconry also give falconry tuition to interested groups and individuals. Huntly Falconry Centre is located just outside the village of Huntly in Aberdeenshire. The Falconry Centre was established in 1991 and is proud to be one of the first falconry centres of its kind in Scotland.
Great show, we were fortunate enough to be the only ones at the show, so we got a private introduction to falconry and all of the beautiful birds. Amazing to watch and listen to such a passionate trainer and his birds. Thank you again for an amazing experience!!
During my vacation in Scotland, I had the pleasure of visiting Huntly Falconry Centre, and it was an amazing experience. Having never experienced falconry before, I was thoroughly impressed. Despite a slight drizzle, the falcon demonstration was fantastic. The falconer, originally from Zimbabwe, explained everything in great detail, keeping it interesting and informative. We learned about the backgrounds, names, attitudes, and skill sets of all the birds. His passion and knowledge truly shone through, making the afternoon memorable. The staff's dedication to their craft made the visit even more enjoyable. If you are ever in the Huntly area, I highly recommend visiting Huntly Falconry Centre. A big thank you to all the staff for an unforgettable experience!
Great place to visit. Lovely knowledgeable staff, great flying display by Kurt, wonderful birds of prey. We really enjoyed our visit. It was very quiet which was great for us.
Cracking afternoon at the Falconry centre. Friendly and knowledgeable guides, and birds each with their own little eccentricities! Awesome experience for kids and adults alike.
This is our second visit and both have been excellent. It's a very laid back venue, with the staff being friendly and knowledgeable. They're keen to talk to you and answer questions and encourage you to hold and interact with the birds. Once you've paid the entry you can stay all day and catch every show if you like, which are well worth seeing. Each show has three birds and they last almost an hour each! They have question and answer sessions and you get the opportunity to fly the birds yourself with small children encouraged to join in. Great value for money! Also for added value, there appears to be a resident family of red deer living in the nearby woods. On both our visits the deer have wandered onto the field with us. The first time they interrupted the flying to demand food and the centre had to bring out buckets for them. Despite being wild deer they're clearly very comfortable with humans and will eat out of your hand. The centre also has a small gift shop and cafe, albeit these are both quite basic. Overall, very much worth the visit.
What a place! John is the owner, and Julie are great hosts. The birds are all in great condition and are obviously John is a great falconer as he knows all the birds so well. There are three flying sessions a day ,all of which are very well done. The cafe is very nice, Julie runs this and again it is very well run. I have been to many, many falconry centres, and this is a good one.
