This picturesque seafront in Hythe, Kent, offers a tranquil atmosphere with its gentle sloping beach, picturesque promenade, and serene coastal views. Visitors can stroll along the sea wall, enjoy the fresh sea air, and take in the sights of the English Channel. The beach itself is a haven for water sports enthusiasts, with opportunities for sailing, kayaking, and paddleboarding. Meanwhile, the town's charming high street is just a short walk away, filled with quaint shops, cafes, and restaurants serving fresh seafood. As the sun sets, the seafront transforms into a romantic spot, perfect for a leisurely evening walk or a relaxing picnic while watching the stars twinkle over the water.
One of my favourite places to visit. Lovely walks, sailing club, great little quirky coffee shack serving delicious breakfasts and lunches (inside and outside seating) , fantastic restaurant serving scrumptious food, bubbles and cocktails skins with fab and pleasant service (inside and outside seating). The seafront is beautiful whether a calm, sunny or stormy day, with a cute that stretches for miles. Quite a steep slope into the water from the beach in high tide, m baking it a little difficult to scramble in and out from the pebbly beach, especially when the sea is a little rough. I love the feeling of peace and community I get here.
I've been visiting Hythe seafront since I was a child to swim, walk dogs and just walk occasionally. It's changef a bit over the years - a lot busier for a start - but I still love the place. Ideal for swimming, sailing, paddle boarding, kite surfing, running, walking, cycling etc.
Absolutely loved it here. Extremely long promenade with no amusements. Ice cream and coffee stops along the way. For me, total bliss. Hythe Town is lovely and quaint with many eateries and one off shops along with many charity shops. Had the best fish and chips in the High Street that I've ever had.
Fabulous part of the coast.... wonderful sunshine today, although slightly breezy! (To say the least!) Lovely, peaceful walk. I live 2 minutes from this gorgeous view/walk. How lucky am I??
Lovely place for a walk anytime. We visited on a cold but sunny day. The seafront has a very long and wide promenade which stretches for a good couple of miles if not more. Along the way they are places to eat ranging from mobile food vans to restaurants. Being by the sea, it's a great place to grab some fish n'chips or some seafood. We visited The Lazy Shack which is right on the beach. One of their specialities is scallops and bacon on a soft baguette and of course fish n' chips. I love it's quirkiness and the home made cakes! The beach is pebbles but does have a purpose built sandy area for younger kids. Dogs are allowed on the beach from Late September to May 1st. They are allowed on the promenade all year round but must be on a lead. There are public toilets plus the cafes and restaurants have loos too! There is a lot of history nearby, take a stroll along the Royal Military canal or visit the historic town. There is a golf course next to the beach and there are some nice guest houses and hotels too. Also nearby is the Romney,Hythe and Dymchurch railway with it's third size steam locos . All in all a great place to visit and to stay for a few days
Nice beach, which is good for sea swimming. However, there is a fair bit of litter around and dog mess on the walkways letting it down. Parking can be tricky on days when the weather is good.
