Tudor historic house, open to the public on selected days during the summer and available for private hire (guided tours, social gatherings etc) at other times.
Visited here on the bank holiday and was very impressed, the staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable and clearly enjoyed sharing their knowledge. There is a lot to see here and it is well laid out. The tea room is well worth a visit with great service and very tasty food, a great selection of homemade cakes too that would be worth a visit just for them!
Wonderful house to visit and the grounds are well worth the walk.
Tucked away in the Essex countryside is this little gem. Very interesting house to visit. Not really suitable for very young children. Guides are dotted around and are very helpful. Tea room is nice. Can recommend the cream tea. Would have given 5 stars if you didn't have to park in a muddy field...
Beautiful 16th century house surrounded by fields. So if you have a dog then this is great place to come and enjoy long walks in number of public rights of ways nearby. The house & grounds are temporarily closed to public and will be opened only from Easter 2022 again. Plenty of parking near by. We definitely will come there again!
Some really nice field walks down to the estate's church, stunning countryside views aswell. Great spot for witnessing amazing sunrises, we were working on site for TV production mid October, amazing light! Lots of history to discover here.
Well worth a visit and for concessions not expensive at PS6/person. There is a small tea area set up under outside covers. Currently covid restrictions still.in place which limits numbers in the house and in the various rooms. It's a shame that the gardens no longer form a part of the experience.
